Our Whole Lives “OWL” at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Nashua

Parents are children’s primary teachers, but what is society teaching our children about sexuality? Our Whole Lives is an antidote to sexualized media messages, peer pressure, misinformation, and prejudice. It provides accurate, age-appropriate information, situates sexuality within the context of values and personal responsibility, supports healthy decision-making, and fosters social skills. These skills and values help prepare youth to make healthy choices for life.

Our Whole Lives for Kindergarteners & 1st Graders will return in fall 2025

Our Whole Lives Sexuality Education for Grades K–1, 2nd edition, is an eight-workshop curriculum that helps children ages five through seven begin the lifelong process of acquiring information and forming attitudes and values about identity, relationships, safety, and health. Unlike many other sexuality curricula currently available, this program is comprehensive and progressive. In an inclusive and developmentally appropriate manner, it addresses sensitive topics that are typically excluded.

Our Whole Lives for 5th-6th graders starting in January 2026

Our Whole Lives Sexuality Education for Grades 4-6, 2nd edition, is a ten-workshop curriculum designed to help children ages nine through twelve to gain the knowledge, life principles, and skills they need to understand and express their sexuality in holistic, life-enhancing ways.

Like the other Our Whole Lives programs for different age groups, this comprehensive, developmentally appropriate program introduces key topics, such as values, body image, gender and sexual identity, peer pressure, and healthy relationships, with sensitivity and inclusiveness.

Our Whole Lives for 7th-8th graders will return in Fall 2026

Our Whole Lives Sexuality Education for Grades 7-9, 2nd edition, comprises twenty-five ninety-minute workshops that teach caring, compassion, respect, and justice. A holistic program that moves beyond the intellect to address the attitudes, values, and feelings that youth have about themselves and the world. New topics include body image, social media/internet, bullying/bystander responsibilities, and consent education.
