Investing in our future

The UU Church of Nashua invites you to consider including a legacy gift to the UU Church of Nashua.  Each of us, at the end of our lives, wants our assets to support the people, causes and institutions we care most about.  A legacy gift shows your deep, long-term commitment to UU Nashua.

What are legacy gifts?

Legacy gifts include gifts created through your will, living trust, retirement plan or life insurance policy. Most legacy gifts are deferred and, unlike cash donations, they are typically made from assets in your estate rather than disposable income, and come to fruition upon your passing. Often a legacy gift is the largest single gift donors will ever make. All legacy gifts allow you to create a more meaningful philanthropic legacy.

How much should I give?

A common misconception is that legacy giving is only for the “wealthy.” The reality is, anyone can make a significant difference through legacy giving if there are assets remaining in their estate, such as a home or a life insurance policy, at the time of death. No amount is too small to make a difference in our future.

How do I leave a legacy gift to the church?

We encourage you to work with your attorney and/or financial advisor to select the approach that is right for you. Our Unitarian Universalist Association also offers detailed legacy giving resources.

You may view our Gift Acceptance Policy for the ways UU Nashua accepts gifts.  Once you have included UU Nashua in your plans, fill out a Legacy Intention Form and return it to Rev. Allison Palm or Ericka LaValley, Church Administrator.

UU Nashua Chalice Keepers

The UU Nashua Chalice Keepers were established in March 2023 as a way to recognize those who have left legacy gifts to support our future, and to recognize those who have pledged to do so in the future.

Please complete a Legacy Intention Form to let us know that you have, or plan to, make a legacy gift. For questions, email: uucnoffice@uunashua.org
