What is a capital campaign?

A set of fundraising and outreach activities to raise money for a specific need – in this case, renovations to our building and campus. Learn more – Capital Campaign 101

Why is it important?

We are investing in our future. It’s important to be good stewards of our building and campus. We believe this will prepare our church and our community to open hearts, open minds, and open our doors for another 200 years. Read more here.

Check out the Testimonials Page for perspectives from the Board of Trustees and individuals from the congregation about why this is important.  This page has testimonials for both the Building Our Vision work and our Investing in Our Vision Campaign.

Does the capital campaign commitment replace the annual pledge?

NO, IT DOES NOT.

This year we ask all members and friends to consider making two financial commitments:

  1. Annual Pledge
  2. Capital Campaign Commitment

ANNUAL PLEDGE

Together, we can invest in our vision so that our church can continue to be a place of wonder, community, connection, and love in action.

The annual pledge is paid yearly to support the ongoing operating expenses of the congregation. It is the foundation for keeping the church functioning. Full funding for our programs and staff is essential to sustaining and growing our church. Your annual pledge helps us provide the programs and services we cherishLearn more.

Please do not lower your annual pledge to make a larger capital campaign donation. It is critical to continue annual giving.

To that end, we invite you to make a pledge for the upcoming 2023-2024 church year by May 14. Your Visiting Steward will give you a pledge form along with your Capital Campaign commitment form and let you know the details of how to make your pledge. Making your commitment on or before May 14 will allow us to prepare a balanced budget for 2023-2024.

How do I make my 2023-2024 annual pledge?

CAPITAL CAMPAIGN COMMITMENT

The capital campaign commitment is a one time commitment paid over three years for the specific purpose of renovating our church campus. The details about the Capital Campaign are included in the Capital Campaign Brochure.

Give a gift

All gifts are important and appreciated, no matter the amount!

The chart below shows how we anticipate reaching $2.2 million. As you can see every gift is a critical step toward our goal.

There are many ways to make a gift to the Capital Campaign. You have a full three years (2023-2026) to fulfill your commitment.

You can make your commitment by:

  • Writing a check. We can accept a check monthly, yearly, or lump sum – whatever works best for your situation.
  • Making credit card payments. A charge can be made to your Visa or MasterCard monthly.
  • Donating stocks or other assets. If you donate stocks directly, you may reduce capital gains taxes.
  • Making a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA for those over 72. A QCD has some tax advantages which should be discussed with a financial professional.

Ask your Visiting Steward for details on each of these options.
