Immigration Solidarity Network
The Social Justice Leadership Team would like to let you know about a new church initiative to respond to the fear and suffering of undocumented immigrants in New Hampshire. The Granite State Organizing Project, which UUCN has been part of for many years, is calling on congregations to become part of the New Hampshire Immigrant Solidarity Network, offering support to these folks in their moment of need. The document, NH Immigrant_Solidarity explains what the network does.
Becoming part of the net
work is simply a formal acknowledgment of work that has been going on in the church for months. Some of our members have been attending vigils, accompanying immigrants to meetings with ICE, and providing “rapid response” support to families who are thrown into crisis when a family member is detained.
We signed on to this initiative in late September of 2017 as a way to offer our ongoing support to our undocumented brothers and sisters. Please email us at UUCNSJ@gmail.com if you have questions or would like to get involved.
