UU Nashua encourages all donors to seek the assistance of personal financial advisors in matters relating to their gifts.   You can view our Gift Acceptance Policy here.

Setup Recurring Payments Online

To make an electronic payment through Breeze, log into uucn.breezechms.com with your member account and then click “Give Now”.  Select “Give to” drop down and select “Give to Pledge Receipt”.  You can choose to make a one-time gift or set an automatic frequency (weekly, every two weeks, monthly or yearly).   Select “Payment Methods” to link a bank account or credit card.  Then choose “Give” to send a payment.

Gifts of stocks or bonds

Giving stocks or bonds directly to the church may allow you to avoid paying capital gains taxes on appreciated securities. Since UU Nashua is tax exempt, we will be able to sell them and realize their full value.  It is important to remember, if you plan on donating using appreciated stock, that you transfer stocks to UU Nashua rather than selling them for cash and donating the cash.

For information on how to donate your stocks to UU Nashua, please reach out to the church office who can connect you to our bank’s client manager.

Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)

Transfer money directly from your bank to ours.  Please reach out to the church office for the church’s banking information which will be required for you to set up these payments.

Direct payments from an Individual Retirement Account

If you are over 70-1/2 years old and have an IRA, you can donate to the church using a “Qualified Charitable Distribution” or QCD.  If you are subject to Required Minimum Distribution (as of this year, generally age 73 and over although there are exceptions) a QCD counts toward the RMD, but it does not count on your 1040 tax form toward your adjusted gross income.  This can be a tax advantage, but you really should check with a tax advisor to be sure it fits your own situation.  Remember that for a donation to be considered a QCD, you must arrange for the transfer from your IRA directly to UU Nashua. For example, your fund manager can send a check payable to UU Church of Nashua to you and you can mail it to the church office or you can instruct your fund manager to send a check payable to UU Church of Nashua directly to the church office. If you withdraw funds from your IRA and then forward a personal check, you lose the advantage of a QCD.

Legacy Giving

Legacy gifts include gifts created through your will, living trust, retirement plan or life insurance policy. Most legacy gifts are deferred and, unlike cash donations, they are typically made from assets in your estate rather than disposable income, and come to fruition upon your passing. Often a legacy gift is the largest single gift donors will ever make. All legacy gifts allow you to create a more meaningful philanthropic legacy.
