Visiting the Cemetery

Due to the history of the cemetery, and the fragility of the monuments and stones, the cemetery is locked to the public.  To visit the cemetery, please contact the church office Mon.-Thurs. 9:00am to 3:00pm by phone at 603-882-1091 ext 201 OR email the church office at uucnoffice@uunashua.org to arrange a time to visit the cemetery.

History of the Nashua Cemetery

The Nashua Cemetery, located behind the Unitarian Universalist Church of Nashua, is the burial grounds of many notable Nashuans.  The Nashua Cemetery was developed in 1835 when the founding fathers of Nashua, whom were members of the congregation, realized they would need a place to be buried.  Many of Nashua’s prominent families were buried alongside one another in the cemetery.  This cemetery holds so much of Nashua’s history.

Memorial Garden

The Nashua Cemetery’s Memorial Garden was dedicated in September 2004.  Burial of cremated ashes as well as scattering of ashes in the memorial garden is open to anyone, church member or not.   For more information on burial or scattering of ashes, please reach out the Nashua Cemetery Trustees cemetery-trustees@uunashua.org or the church office uucnoffice@uunashua.org or 603-882-1091 ext 201
