The Future Begins with Us

UU Nashua Stewardship Campaign • 2026–2027

February 8 – March 8, 2026

Two hundred years ago, our spiritual ancestors gathered together and founded what would become our beloved Unitarian Universalist congregation in Nashua. They could not see the future we now inhabit—but they trusted that shared values, community, and generosity would carry their vision forward. Today, as we approach the 200th year of our faith’s home in Nashua, we stand at a similar moment. And that is why we are launching this year’s Stewardship Campaign with the theme:The Future Begins with Us.

Why Your Pledge Matters

UU Nashua is a vibrant, living community. It nurtures our spirits, challenges our thinking, and inspires us to live our values in the world. Your financial support makes that possible.

Annual pledges directly fund the ministries and programs that shape our shared life, including:

  • Worship and music

  • Religious education for all ages

  • Pastoral care and community support

  • Social justice and outreach beyond our walls

In a world marked by uncertainty and division, the need for spiritual grounding, authentic community, and meaningful action has never been greater. What we offer here matters—and your pledge sustains that work.

A Moment of Gratitude—and Renewal

We come into this year with deep gratitude. Thanks to our successful $3-million-plus Capital Campaign, our beautiful 200-year-old campus has been renewed and strengthened for generations to come. As most capital commitments are now fulfilled, our focus returns to sustaining the life of the church itself—the people, programs, and ministries that make UU Nashua a thriving spiritual home.

Our Stewardship Goal

For the coming year, we have set a Stewardship goal of $450,000.

This reflects real and necessary costs:

  • Annual expense increases of 5–10%

  • A significant 20% increase in UUA health insurance premiums for our staff

Pledges are our largest source of income. They must grow if we are to maintain our ministries and care well for those who serve this congregation.

How Much Should I Pledge?

This is one of the most common questions we hear—and the answer is simple: There is no single “right” amount. Stewardship looks different at different stages of life. Every pledge matters. The strength of this church comes from many people giving in many ways, according to their abilities.

This year, we are introducing Pledge Bands, a more transparent way to show how gifts of many sizes—modest to substantial—come together to support the whole life of our church. You’ll find details about Pledge Bands and more in The Future Begins with Us brochure  by clicking here.

How to Make Your Pledge

Pledging is easier than ever:

  • Return a paper pledge form using the enclosed envelope you received at Church or in the mail

  • Pledge online using our secure form.

Please note: the pledge year aligns with the church’s fiscal year, July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027.

Sharing the Light

During Fellowship Hour each week, members of the Stewardship Team will be available to receive pledge forms. When you turn in your pledge, you’ll be invited to take a candle and add it to our wooden chalice, honoring your pledge and the light it brings to our shared community. We will also add a candle for each pledge received throughout the week. Let’s fill that chalice with our light.

You’ll also be receiving an invitation to one of our Giving Gatherings—small-group meals with conversation about this year’s campaign and ideas for celebrating our 200th anniversary together.

Looking Ahead

As we look toward the next 200 years, we invite you—if you are able—to consider increasing your already generous pledge. Even small increases, when shared across the congregation, make a meaningful difference.

The future of UU Nashua does not begin someday. It begins now. It begins with us.

Thank you for your presence, your generosity, and your commitment to our UU Nashua community.
